Before going to the Conservatorium of Music I really had no idea of how to create a truly improvised solo. I had transcribed a few solos here and there and learnt a few licks along the way but I didn't understand how to start a solo or build a solo from scratch. My playing had become a series of cliches that I could pull out for some cheap applause. This guide will give you the tools that you need to be able to start soloing.
