EAR TRAINING APPS

I have tried out a lot of ear training apps over the past 12 months. They are an excellent tool for developing your ears on the go. I used these apps every day for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening while sitting on the bus to and from work. I also spent my lunch breaks on them.

Here are my favourites:

I really like this app!! (android - samsung note 4) Great piano sound and the comprehensive ear training course is logical. At first I didnt like that you couldn't progress past an exercise without getting the requisite number of correct responses in the required time but this was my ego getting in the way. This app will give you a real indication of where your ears are at. I should also point out that the app is customisable so you can work on your weak areas or get a jump on the upcoming exercises. The only improvement I could think of would be the addition of stats for those of us who like to track our progress and identify weak areas. A great app and a great team always quick to reply to emails. By the way I recommend getting some noise cancelling headphones to use with these apps.

Here is another great fully customisable app to use on the go. The team is very quick to reply to emails and the stats function is fantastic. The only criticism I had was I didnt really like the piano sound.

If you have an ear training app you would like me to review and include on my blog send me an email

Good luck!
